Chocolate Passion, Penang, Malaysia

Off to Penang we go!
Before heading down to my parents' hometown in Kedah, we dropped by Penang for a night.
After dinner, we found this lovely place in Paragon Mall.
 Chocolate Passion !
They have both savoury and sweet snacks in their menu, but just as their name is, chocolate is what people come here for.
Check this out! Chocolate sandwiches and chocolate pizzas! Don't they look delicious even by just looking at the menu? Unfortunately, we came after dinner and were not able to try them out.
we came by for a simple dessert and spotted Churros! We ordered the milk chocolate dip.
I'd love to try this 'Chocolate Bomb'. It is said that it'll burst open upon pouring warm liquid chocolate on it.
If I happen to head back to Penang before going home, I'll remind myself to try it out!
This is the view from the top. They have seats both inside and outside. It can be quite breezy outside at night.

Our churros has arrived! The milk chocolate is really sweet.
The churros was slightly hard, but is pretty good as well. After finishing our snacks, I decided to leave a little something for them.. since it's the horse year,
I drew this with the excess chocolate!
Flowers were added to complete the drawing and the word 'craftysupermom' which is my instagram username was added on the top right.

Delicious, Sunway Pyramid, Malaysia

Elegant and cosy environment. Comfortable place for a casual meeting.
Food served are pretty good. Slightly pricey.
Pasta's average price is about Rm25 depending on what you order.
Their duck aglio olio is pretty good. Carbonara's not bad too.

Brownie is super good! Love it! Especially when it's nice and warm which the ice cream is served cold. Mmmmm..
One of the popular cakes is the carrot cake! It's pretty nice, slightly chewy.
Other cakes available to try is their Lemon, Lime & Ginger Cake, Red Velvet, Classic Chocolate cake etc. When we were there, they actually had a promotion where you get a free cake after 9pm!

Betty's Midwest Kitchen, Aman Suria, Malaysia

Hello everyone!
How hungry are you today?
Let me introduce you to the oh-so-famous.. DOG FOOD!
Yes. That's right! This cheesy bunch of fries coated in a special sauce is called the 'Dog Food'.
The 'Dog Food' is well known dish in the restaurant - Betty's Midwest Kitchen located in Aman Suria, Petaling Jaya. Many first timers would go for this and those who went before would definitely recommend this dish.
Their other well known dish is the 'Pig In A Blanket'. Fat juicy sausages fried with a layer of bacon wrapped around it and then drizzled in honey! Satisfying!
Looking similar to the pig in a blanket, these are just fried bacon. Just the thought of fried bacon makes me go oooo and aaaaa all the time. But honestly speaking, I felt this one was a tad too dry and quite hard to chew. Having pig in the blanket where the fried bacon is wrapped around a juicy sausage is just perfect for me.
In the picture above, you can see that the dog food is served in a metal bowl just like how some dog dishes really are like! The ' Pig In A Blanket ' is towards the top right and the fried bacon at the bottom right.
Pork Chop! Also one of the things recommended here. I ordered the one with their special sauce, but I've heard people going gaga over the applesauce pork chop. Would probably try that out in the future.
I was never a big fan of peas, but surprisingly, I ate all of em in this dish above. Their peas were really fresh and not mushy like many others. Thumbs up for that! The sauce is extremely delicious too! And goes really well with the mashed potatoes.

The venue :
I really enjoyed my meal here. The environment is lovely and everything is done up in the American style. Food here is great too! Definitely somewhere I would want to come back again!

Kindly take note that they do not take reservations as their business is really THAT good. You can still call up and check if tables are available then, and quickly head over before it's gone.

Euro Deli Grill & Restaurant @ Damansara Kim, PJ , Matterhorn Burger Eating Challenge, Malaysia

Hey people! Here's a little view on Euro Deli's Matterhorn Burger Eating Challenge!
Before we go there, here's a peek on their menu of the other things available there.

Looks pretty good huh? I've tried three of their dishes before and found it really good.
This is one of them. The flavour from the meat is really strong. I would say it somewhat 'burst' in your mouth. There's a dish serving only sausages. Some of you may think that it's just sausages, like me previously, but trust me, it's really really good! I never thought of ordering that before, but my friend did. I tried and fell in love. A good dish for sharing among friends.

For the Matterhorn Burger Challenge, you are required to fill in a form. It looks something like this :

*IMPORTANT* Kindly take note that you also have to call Euro Deli and inform them that you wish to take the challenge a couple of days in advance. This gives them time to prepare the burger. It's not everyday that they make those giant burgers.

The burger itself cost Rm80++. If you manage to chomp down that burger within 45minutes (No leftover of vegetables, cheese, patty, bread or any part of the burger should remain on the plate), you win a cash reward of Rm100. A lot of people got featured on their special board - the board labeled 'Hall Of Shame'. So far, only three person (since I went - 2013) ever got into the Hall Of Fame. Surprisingly, they were all really skinny.

Let me show you how huge the burger is...
Can't really tell? Here's another picture...
 The burger consist of :
11 slices of Swiss cheese together with generous slices of tomatoes, gherkins, bacon, lettuce and a 1.5kg of pork patty topped with special burger sauce tucked in a homemade bun.
We used the burger for a birthday celebration.
It was pretty fun.
The ginormous burger.
You can find their video on the Matterhorn Burger here!

Personal opinion on the Matterhorn Burger. Apparantly, their burger bun actually taste pretty good! It's buttered on the inside, a lightly burnt for a crispy side yet soft inside. The meat on the other hand, taste very much like what people call the luncheon meat that comes in a can. It's very salty (probably a strategy to make you feel thirsty, drink water & get full I assume?) and extremely thick. Soft though. My suggestion is to eat the meat together with the veg given together.

Well, that is all. Good luck! ;)

Shakespear Boulangerie & Patisserie, SS15, Subang Jaya, Malaysia

The cake arrangement at Shakespear Boulangerie & Patisserie.
They have many different coloured macaroons and a really bright pink-red pavlova.
I tried their tester of certain biscuits and they're really good!

Shakespear is a lot like Levain. They have similar pastas and the same kind of pastries! Why? Well, Shakespear happens to be a relative of Levain!

I tried their pastries and their potato salad. Thumbs up!
I especially enjoyed their potato salad. Simple yet delicious with very 'refreshing' vegs.
Though a relative of Levain with lots of similar pastries, they don't have my favourite ham & egg pastry in Levain. Oh well, guess I just got to travel furthur for that one.

Their creamy mushroom pasta.
I am one who loves spicy food. But, to be honest, I don't really like their chili with this dish. The taste doesn't really blend well. I think it has a hint of lime added to it.
Their pastas' flavour is actually pretty good. However, the pasta itself gave a floury texture to it. It somehow felt as though the noodles were not made properly where everything is nicely blended together in the dough. Unsure if it's like this, or I just so happen to be unlucky that day.

Well, that's all for now. Bye!

Pizza Uno, Taipan USJ10, Malaysia

*apologizes for the oddly yellow photographs*
At Pizza Uno, Taipan USJ10
Seafood Carbonara. Very creamy, pretty generous with their sauce.
Tiramisu. Didn't really fancy it. It was alright at first, but it didn't make me feel like I want to finish it. Average.
Iced Chocolate. They used dark chocolate and mixed with loads of milk and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Simple, but I enjoyed it. Goes along great with the meal.
Creamy Mushroom. Pretty nice, but common and lacks a little taste.
My sister really liked this. The sauce is slightly sour, but has a great taste to it. The prawns were fresh and FAT.

I forgot the name of this pizza, but it's mainly meat with a little capsicum. Not bad.
